The Roodepoort Museum invites you to become a Friend of the Museum. We have been around for more than 16 years and we want you to become a part of our exciting future. Our goal for the new millenium is to become the community museum of the West; a museum for our whole community to be proud of and involved in. By joining our Friends of the Museum you will become a part of this goal and the excitement of the changes to take place.

What to the Friends do?

  • encourage and promote public interest in, and support for the museum by means of fund raising and organising special events
  • initiating special exhibitions, meetings, holiday courses and interesting events

How does the member benefit?

  • free access to the Museum and it's colections
  • free access to historical sites
  • free access to research library and facilities
  • invitations to openings of new exhibitions
  • participation in field trips, outings, lectures and social functions

How much does it cost annually?

  • Individuals: R50.00 (local), US$30 (overseas)
  • Students (under 25 years): R20.00
  • Senior citizens: R25.00 or a voluntary contribution
  • Junior (under 18 years): R10.00
  • Corporate (business, partnership): R100.00
  • Family: R70
